Spanning an impressive 535,000 square feet, the 2024 Expo transformed the convention space into a vibrant hub for 590 vendors from around the globe. Each booth was a showcase of innovation and passion, featuring the latest in outdoor gear, hunting equipment, and groundbreaking wildlife conservation technology. This year’s Expo transcended its role as a mere gathering spot, becoming a vivid testament to the power of unified efforts in championing conservation causes.

A standout moment from the event was the staggering participation of over 20,040 applicants in the highly anticipated 200-permit drawing. This enthusiastic response not only underscores the vibrant spirit of the hunting community but also its robust support for conservation endeavors. Further accentuating this commitment was the record-breaking fundraising achievement, with the Expo raising an unprecedented $15.2 million. These funds are instrumental in furthering the conservation of wildlife habitats and ensuring the preservation of our cherished species for generations to come.

The auctions of special tags brought to light the generous spirit that pervades the hunting community. Notably, the Arizona All-State Deer Tag and Utah’s Antelope Island Mule Deer Tag fetched $575,000 and $375,000 respectively. These auctions serve as a poignant reminder of the crucial role hunters play in wildlife and habitat conservation, underlining the significant financial contributions they provide towards these vital efforts. Amidst misconceptions, the Expo’s tag programs stand as essential mechanisms for funding conservation projects. To illuminate the impactful use of these funds, we invite our members to engage with a dedicated podcast episode available on YouTube, offering an in-depth exploration of how these contributions directly benefit wildlife conservation and habitat restoration efforts. As we reflect on this year’s achievements, we extend our deepest appreciation to the exhibitors, attendees, and all who supported the 2024 Expo. Your commitment fuels our collective efforts in safeguarding our wildlife and natural landscapes. The Expo stands as a testament to what we can achieve together, serving as a beacon of hope and a call to action for all who cherish our natural world and the legacy of hunting. Looking ahead, we eagerly anticipate next year’s Expo, where we will continue to celebrate and fortify our heritage and dedication to conservation. The Western Hunting and Conservation Expo is more than an event; it’s a movement. Together, we are making a profound difference, ensuring that our wild counterparts and the environments they inhabit thrive for years to come. The unity and passion displayed at the 2024 Expo affirm our commitment to the principles of conservation and community. As members of the Mule Deer Foundation, we stand at the forefront of this vital mission, championing the causes that ensure the longevity of our natural heritage. Together, we are not just preserving traditions; we are ensuring the future of hunting and conservation for future generations.
